How to Start and Run a Chapter
We want Hardware Massive to reach even more cities around the world to connect the hardware industry at a global level. If you are interested in hosting your own Hardware Massive chapter, we have created a step by step guide about how to start (and run) a successful Hardware Massive chapter in your city. You will also learn how to organize your events, build your community and work with sponsors. The most important factor is to have fun and be creative!
Is there a format to events?
We do have a standard format for our events but we are flexible in changing it as long as it remains true to the values of Hardware Massive. Typical events include casual networking at a bar or restaurant; guest speaker, panel, or round table discussions on a particular topic; an event sponsored by a hardware brand/ company or a hardware services provider. Visit our Community Events page on resource page for examples and event summaries.
Creating a Team
Running a regular networking event, even on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis, will take time to organize and promote. It will take a few events to grow and establish your group. Having more than one co-organizer helps divide responsibilities and ensure the long-term success of your chapter.
We have found that having three organizers works best. If you are employed by a company, your co-organizers should be from different companies. Please make sure you and your team have the time and commitment to run the chapter. Most importantly, hosting a Hardware Massive should be a fun and rewarding experience for both you and the community you foster.
What if I don’t have co-organizers, can I still apply?
Yes, if you have the passion and commitment to build and grow your community, we would love for you to be involved! Our community manager will discuss different options for you to find additional support.
