The Batchery @ Port Workspaces
344 20th St. Oakland
DescriptionJoin us for Hardware Massive SF East Bay at The Batchery/Port Workspaces in Uptown Oakland!
Our speaker this month is Danielle Applestone, CEO of Other Machine Co. Danielle will give a talk on "Building Prototypes that People will Buy".
Customers speak louder than mockups! So you should build the shoddiest thing that people will buy. Until a version of your product is in the hands of your target customer, you won't really know what you need to build. Spending the smallest amount of money on fabrication of barely functional, in-the-field prototypes is the fastest way to validate your product before you invest in tooling, inventory, or worse: the wrong user experience.
Rapid prototyping equipment is now good enough to simulate injection molding, electronics, and machined parts in any material. Hardware is the new software, and anyone can put a product out into the world, but the winners will spend the least and make the right products for the right customers from day one. Come to this talk and learn how to win in hardware.
Danielle Applestone is the CEO & Co-Founder of Other Machine Co. She developed the Othermill, a portable desktop CNC mill that enables users to create 2D and 3D objects out of durable materials and aims to revolutionize manufacturing at various different levels. othermachine.co
