About meI am an international lawyer who helps Western companies navigate Asia's laws.
I am a founder of Harris Bricken, an international law firm with offices in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Beijing and Barcelona.
I mostly represent companies doing business in emerging market countries in Asia. I am a frequent writer and public speaker on doing business in China and I frequently travel between the United States and Asia. I most commonly speak on China law issues, especially IP. I am also the lead writer of the award winning China Law Blog (www.chinalawblog.com). I have spoken at Hardware Massive in Shenzhen and in Barcelona.
I represent a number of hardware companies on their Asian law matters, mostly focusing on setting up/registering their companies in China (via WFOEs, Rep Offices or Joint Ventures), drafting their manufacturing and licensing contracts (NDAs, OEM Agreements, licensing, distribution, etc.), and helping to protect their IP.
